Abstract
In this paper a simple spectral interferometric method for precise determination of the zero-dispersion wavelength of fiber polarization modes using a supercontinuum source is presented. This technique is based on processing a single spectral interferogram recorded in an experimental setup utilizing a dispersion balanced Mach-Zehnder interferometer with a birefringent fiber under test, a supercontinuum source and a low-resolution spectrometer. The zero-dispersion wavelengths retrieved from the sigle interferograms are compared with those obtained by a wide spectral range measurement technique applied in the same setup, and good agreement between the results is confirmed.
