Abstract
We present a method of femtosecond pulse shaping in the deep ultraviolet (DUV, 266 nm) by four-wave-mixing of temporally shaped 800 nm pulses and their second-harmonic in a thin isotropic transparent Kerr-type medium. Numerical solutions of the two-dimensional nonlinear propagation equations for this process have been obtained for double-gaussian and flat-top shapes using a dedicated code developed within our group. These results show that it is possible to obtain double-gaussian and flat-top DUV pulses depending on the relative delay between pump and idler pulses, with significant efficiency and with time durations in the range of those of the pump pulses.
