Abstract
Moire fringes and the Talbot self-imaging effect can be combined to produce shearing-interferometric-like maps of lens refractive power with high sensitivity and accuracy. Here we explore the properties of a simplified interferometer, consisting of a white-light source and two dissimilar gratings, designed to be rugged enough for field testing of sunglass lenses.
