1 September 1990 Rotatable shear plate interferometer

Abstract
A shear plate interferometer has been installed in a mount that allows the direction of shear to be rotated. With this instrument, the defocus and third-order aberrations in a laser beam can be measured very quickly, usually in about a minute including setup.
