A wavelet preprocessed amplitude-modulated phase-only filter is implemented on both gray-scale and synthetic-aperture-radar (SAR) images. The algorithm, which exploits the multiresolution properties of a wavelet, is evaluated in terms of various pattern recognition statistics. The effect of thresholding nonlinearity is also studied.
