1 December 1999 Rock and roll polishing: a process for optical surface polishing

We describe and present experimental results of a nonconventional process that can be used for the polishing of optical surfaces. In particular, we present data regarding polishing uniformity, removal rate, surface microroughness, and subsurface damage.
