We present a general spectral model for target detection in the visible spectrum and a cluttered environment. Having the model, we derive a rectangular spectral filter to be attached to the camera’s aperture plane to improve the detection abilities. Simulations and experimental verification demonstrate the abilities of the suggested approach.
