A new experiment has been conducted with a composite propellant rocket motor in order to get two kinds of information: first one is concerning the physical and optical properties of aluminates particles that are emitted in the plume exhaust; second one is concerning the spectral and spatial repartition of radiance in the plume infrared images.
The size distribution and the optical properties of particles are used as entry data for flowfield computation, whereas infrared spectra and images are used to evaluate the capacities of the simulation tools to produce infrared signature data.
