Profile Summary

Caetano has began his scientific journey as a training student at the Center for Lasers and Applications (Nuclear and Energy Research Institute) and at the Microbiology Department of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (Univ. of Sao Paulo). In 2015, he has worked as a fellow researcher at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine (Harvard Medical School). Currently, he is a PhD candidate at the Clinical and Toxicological Analysis Department of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Univ. of Sao Paulo).

During his undergraduate years, he was the president and vice president of the International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE) USP-Capital student chapter. In 2016 and at the same society, he has worked as a worldwide student representative. Nowadays, he is the youngest member composing the Scientific Committee board of the World Association for Laser Therapy (WALT).

Caetano is the editor of 3 international journals and a reviewer of 6 others. In the last 5 years, he has co-authored 20 original articles in indexed international journals, 12 book chapters, and has published 8 full papers and 7 abstracts in conference proceedings. At this same period, he has received 9 scientific awards, including an honorable mention in the Brazilian Congress of Biomedical Engineering, a scholarship by SPIE and the first place as the national highlight of CNPq students in the “Scientific Training in ​​Life Sciences” category.
