Detection of exoplanets using high-resolution spectroscopy is limited by a balance between spatial and spectral sampling and resolution. We propose to use a highly multiplexed Bragg grating (HMBG) to optically correlate relevant parts of a spectrum. The HMBG sidesteps the trade-off between spatial and spectral resolution, increasing the number of available spatial pixels by 10^3-10^4. The HMBG is implemented using an acousto-optical filter. This filter gives the freedom to dynamically combine any desired set of spectral lines. We will show the simulated performance of a system with an HMBG in a realistic environment.
