Corrugated cutter head is the key component of grassland root cutting machine, which directly affects the operation performance of root cutting machine and the improvement effect of degraded grassland. EDEM was used to establish the discrete element simulation model of soil cutting root of corrugated cutter head. The soil disturbance, root cutting resistance and stress-strain characteristics of corrugated cutter head during root cutting process were analyzed. The simulation results show that the root cutting performance of corrugated cutter head meets the requirements of grassland improvement agriculture, and the corrugated cutter head meets the mechanical requirements of strength and stiffness. The research results can provide reference for the design of adaptability, reliability and durability of corrugated cutter head.
