Profile Summary

Dr. Lefebvre has over 14 years of experience in the areas of product development, research and marketing in the areas of nanotechnology, optical technology and sensor systems. Before joining Agiltron, Dr. Lefebvre, as the Manager of Advanced Sensor and Communications Group within the Advanced Development organization at Sensis Corporation, managed a team of research engineers and scientists developing sensor and communication systems for both the civilian and the defense markets. In addition, he was the Director of Engineering Research for NetTest, researching and developing optical systems for testing optical networks where he managed the development of Polarization Mode Dispersion and a Chromatic Dispersion measurement system. Dr. Lefebvre has also developed an optical fiber sensor system for detecting chafing on a F/A 18 and H-53 cable harnesses which included the sensor and the measurement system. As a college professor at the SUNY Institute of Technology Telecommunication Department, he has managed over 30 graduate students performing research on optical networking technology. Furthermore, he has authored 23 articles in the area of quantum devices and optical networking technology, Co-author a book chapter on QWIPs in the Encyclopedia of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, served as an Editorial Advisory Board Member for Lightwave Magazine, served on the AIAA Technical Committee Sensor Group and has filed patents in the areas of Cellular, DME, Medical Sensor and Optical Technologies. Dr. Lefebvre received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering specializing in Quantum Well Devices from the University of Connecticut, M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a Major in Physics from Marquette University.
