Dr. Robert Upton
Senior Research Optical Engineer at Apple Inc
SPIE Involvement:
Area of Expertise:
Optical design , Wavefront sensing , Computational imaging , Mathematical methods , Beam propagation , LIDAR
Profile Summary

I have a background in astronomical optics, wavefront sensing, optical design and optical systems analysis. I have had the opportunity to work on large astronomical telescope systems that include the DKIST, JWST, and TMT. My favorite professional topics include reflective imaging and optical relay system design, wavefront sensing system modeling and characterization, and computational imaging. Presently I work in an incubation group at Apple Inc.
