Micro computational spectrometers based on disordered media have been investigated by many researchers to obtain high resolution or broad bandwidth. In this paper, a computational spectrometer based on a disordered medium that is called random pixelated grating is proposed. Using the principle of diffractive optics, we stimulate the correlation between the spectrum and speckle patterns to estimate the resolution and bandwidth. According the to the simulation results, a resolution of 0.06nm at 500 nm, and a bandwidth of 240nm from 380 nm to 620nm can be achieved.
