Abstract
Wisely exploiting scattered radiation, considered as noise until now, for image purpose is one of relevant techniques for emerging tomographic imaging. In this work we propose a new concept of Compton Scattering Tomography (CST) based on a fixed source and a ring of detectors passing through the source. The modelling of this new CST modality leads to a new Radon transform (RT) on a special family of circular arcs. The inversion of this RT is calculated. Simulation results illustrate the viability and performances of the proposed system. It has the advantage of being able to scan both small and large objects, which makes it easy to apply to several fields as quality control in non destructive evaluation, biomedical and cultural heritage object imaging.
