Abstract
Irrigation and fertilization are effective ways to regulate the growth of crops. The two are closely related and coordinated with each other or restrained. Irrigation can effectively promote the effect of fertilization, and fertilization effectively facilitates the absorption and utilization of water by crops. However, traditional irrigation and fertilization methods not only cause serious waste of water and fertilizer resources, but also reduce crop yields, quality and even bring environmental pollution and other problems, hindering the areas’ healthy development of agriculture and ecology, therefore, optimizing the coupling of water and fertilizer, scientific water use and efficient fertilization are of great significance for promoting the rational use of resources and intensive production in my country's agriculture. This article briefly showed the concept and characteristics of water-fertilizer integration technology and its respective effects on crop physiological growth, yield and quality. It also summarized the existing problems of current water-fertilizer integration technology in the process of agricultural extension and application, and greatly popularized water and fertilizer integration will require systematic theoretical research and technological innovation. Water and fertilizer integration technology is the optimal way to combine irrigation and fertilization, which is an inevitable choice for the advancement of modern agriculture.
