Abstract
Aperture truncated Airy beam has unique properties such as non-diffracting, self-healing and free acceleration, and has wide application in optical micromanipulation, light bullets, filamentation, optical routing, and optical communication etc. Based on Huygens-Fresnel diffraction integral, propagation and evolution characteristics of several aperture truncated Airy beams such as exponential decaying, spatial domain truncated, frequency domain truncated and constant amplitude Airy beams are compared and analyzed. Effects of transverse scaling factor on non-diffracting propagation distance and transverse acceleration are discussed. Results show that the non-diffracting propagation distance and transverse acceleration offset increase with the increase of transverse scaling factor when the aperture truncated width is fixed. If the aperture truncated width and transverse scaling factor are the same, the non-diffracting propagation distance of frequency domain truncated Airy beam is the shortest, that of the exponential decaying Airy beam and the spatial domain truncated Airy beam are longer, and that of the constant amplitude Airy beam is the longest.
