Abstract
Vision is the most important sensory organ of human and visual impairment might significantly reduce the quality of human life. There are several methods that can be used to restore human visual system such as surgery, artificial retina and so on. Among which, Brain Computer Interface (BCI) based visual recovery strategies have drew researches attentions for its outstanding advantages and it is now the most promising rehabilitation method for the blind. To clarify the main findings and trends of the BCI based visual rehabilitation methods, this article introduced the theoretical basis of the human visual system firstly and then analyzed the most prevalent visual recovery strategies based on BCI, including the subretinal implantation and epiretinal implantation, which may provide theoretical and practical reference for further development of artificial retina in the future.
