Abstract
The continuous rise of the maximum load of air conditioners in the extremely high temperature weather of summer has brought a significant challenge on the power supply. The development of cooling system with photovoltaic and ice storage can play an important role. In this paper, a research on the optimal capacity configuration of the cooling system with photovoltaic and ice storage is carried out. Aiming at the lowest cost per unit of cooling capacity, the time-of-use electricity price, ice storage capacity and the maximum cooling load are considered to formulate an operation strategy. Under a given typical daily cooling load curve and photovoltaic output curve of a certain building, the influence of photovoltaic capacity and ice storage capacity on the cost of unit cooling capacity is analyzed. The case study shows that the optimal photovoltaic capacity is generally not affected by the cooling and ice storage tank capacity, and there is also an optimal value for the ice storage tank capacity.
