Abstract
For the application scenarios of ocean surveying, the traditional motion reference unit (MRU) is limited in its ability to directly provide detailed wave characteristics such as the heave and attitude parameters of the vehicle. To address this limitation, a wave measurement algorithm based on the MRU is proposed. Among them, the filtering and integration algorithm in the frequency domain is proposed to process the vertical acceleration data obtained by the MRU, Moreover, the wave height and wave period measurement algorithms are further established according to the vertical displacement obtained by this algorithm. An algorithm for wave direction measurement based on the attitude angle of the vehicle motion obtained by the MRU is also designed. Ultimately, through experimental verification, the proposed algorithm demonstrates its effectiveness in accurately measuring wave height, wave period, and wave direction.
