Abstract
In this paper, for the needs in the field of elevator safety monitoring, we study how to fuse the data from accelerometers and gyroscopes in cell phone sensors using Kalman filtering algorithm to improve the accuracy and stability of tilt angle measurement. By combining the gravity information perceived by the accelerometer and the angular velocity information perceived by the gyroscope, we can get more accurate elevator tilt angle estimation results. In this algorithm, the accelerometer provides the tilt angle information of the elevator while the gyroscope provides the rotation rate information.
