Abstract
Despite considerable progress in digital image processing tech- niques, optical methods and hybrid optical-digital processors may have different topographic and nontopographic applications. Compa- rative studies of analog optical and digital 'two-dimensional data arrays processing systems showed that hybrid digital-optical 4e- vices provide sufficient accuracy and considerably higher speed than digital systems in solving specific problems related to high- speed two-dimensional data arrays processing. The report deals with theoretical aspects of high-speed image processing, it inves- tigates methodological aspects of the hybrid optical-digital pro- cessors design and presents the results of the experimental study of the devices' applicability in solving meteorological, ecological problems, etc. The report focuses on the analysis and design of the key element-Fourier objective. The paper presents specifications of high-quality Fourier objectives, which provide real-time spaial filtering and calculation of spatial energy spectra of 18x18 cm aerial photographs, comprising 1 data bits and providing 0,05-30 lines/mm energy spectra resolution. The report deals with possible applications of multichannel holographic correlator for area ob- jects recognition and fixing in meteorology and optical instrument making.
