Abstract
A low-power diode laser is used in a range sensor for spacecraft rendezvous and docking. The sensor consists of a transmitter, a retroreflector mounted on the other spacecraft, and a receiver mounted along with the transmitter. This is the first laser-based payload for Indian spacecraft.
