Abstract
The complex refractive index n((sigma) , p, T) of an equilibrium mixture of gaseous NO2/N2O4 is studied in the wavenumber range 11,000 cm-1 < (sigma) < 19,000 cm-1 and temperature range 299 K < T < 349 K with dispersive Fourier transform spectroscopy in the visible (DFTS-VIS). Although the absorption coefficient is already know with high accuracy, this is the first simultaneous determination of both, the real refractive index and the absorption coefficient of an absorbing gas in the visible wavenumber range by DFTS.
