Abstract
High-quality oriented thin films of YBa2Cu30y having transition been madetemperature < 89 K and critical current densities (at 77 K) < 106 A/cm2 bypulsed laser deposition on (1012) non-buffered sapphire substrates. Themicrowave surface resistance (Rs) has been measured between 10 K and 300 K at135 GHz by a copper cavity end-wall-replacement technique. Microwave devicesfabricated from films on non-buffered sapphire have included an K-Bandmodified three-pole Chebyschev filter having an insertion loss of 1,2 dB at60 K. The HTS filter was designed to be a 5 % bandwidth. Our filters outperform similar copper microstrip filters, indicating that practical levels ofHTS performance have been achieved.
