Abstract
Photogrammetry currently is in a transition. Analytical photogrammetry is being complemented by digital methods. For photogrammetric system makers this means critical involvement in both worlds with the objective of optimally matching the capabilities of the new methods to practical requirements. This paper provides an overview over the development status of the digital photogrammetric system PHODIS and its newest component, the PHODIS ST digital stereoplotter. System design particularities and the implementation of automatic and semi-automatic methods are discussed.
