Abstract

Low-frequency amplitude instabilities, called `green problem', were observed in a laser diode array pumped, intracavity-frequency-double Nd:YVO₄ laser under certain experimental conditions. The results of an experimental and theoretical investigation of these instabilities are described, and the theoretical analysis agrees fairly well with the experimental observations.
