Abstract
One-dimensional model allows to describe many dynamical processes taking place in single-mode optical fibers and fiber lasers. In this report we consider three different effects, which are specifically connected with SBS dynamics in fibers. These are inhomogeneous broadening and hole burning of the spectrum of the SBS power for SBS in single-mode optical fiber; SBS lasing in optical fibers with enhanced Rayleigh losses caused by cooperative Rayleigh scattering (RS)-SBS process; passive Q-switching in fiber lasers caused by cascade RS-SBS process. We have built 1-D dynamical models for each specific case, and use those models in order to analyze experimental results.
