Abstract
While fiber optical transmission lines (FOTL) in service it is made a decision on carrying out of emergency-regenerative works (ERW) in which course there is a measurement of attenuation on a cable insert. Results of the given measurements are defined by parameters of approximating straight lines adjoining to an insert quasi-regular sections which in turn depend on a choice of optimum parameters of an optical reflectometer operating mode. In article research results of measurement errors of optical insert attenuation are submitted depending on length of adjoining sections. Recommendations are resulted at the choice of an optimum operating mode of optical reflectometer.
