Abstract
With the help of two ArcView GIS3.x extensions - Mutiple Closest Facilities (MCF) and P/Pl-tools, a new method has been raised in this paper to calculate the transportation network distance. This method is accessible, simple and practicable, which can be operated simply. In addition, in this passage the problem how to apply network distance in the urban development and planning is also analyzed. This passage, which is lighted with SANET3.4, is aimed to recommend the unique GIS spatial analysis tool based on the calculation of the network distance with cordiality.
