Abstract
I describe a framework useful for designing computational imaging systems and for assessing their efficacy and performance. I cast the problem as the design of a measurement matrix H followed by post-detection processing with an estimation matrix T. I consider only simple imaging as a vehicle to identify the framework and to motivate discussion.
