17 March 2023 Whole-body photobiomodulation treatment of fibromyalgia: a triple-blinded randomized clinical trial

Abstract
BACKGROUND: Fibromyalgia (FM) is a chronic musculoskeletal pain condition characterized by sensory hypersensitivity, widespread pain and fatigue. AIMS: To evaluate the effects of NovoTHOR® whole-body PBM on fibromyalgia.   METHOD: Forty-Two patients in a triple-blind, placebo-controlled trial were randomized to receive active or placebo NovoTHOR whole-body PBM, three times a week for four weeks.   RESULTS: There were statistically significant differences in pain and quality of life in favour of the active treatment group at the end of 4-weeks. 
CONCLUSION: NovoTHOR whole-body PBM significantly reduces pain and improves quality of life in patients with fibromyalgia.
