Profile Summary

Dr. Aaron Price has been investigating smart materials since 2004 including shape memory alloys, smart material enabled robotics, and nanoscale EAP actuator technologies. As a Senior Scientist at ABB’s Corporate Research Center in Germany, he led technology development projects specializing in applying electroactive polymers, magnetic shape memory alloys, and piezo-transducers for industrial sensing, energy harvesting, and actuation technologies. He joined the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Western Ontario in January of 2015 where he leads the Organic Mechatronics & Smart Materials Laboratory, and represents Engineering on the Research Advisory Committee for Western's Bone & Joint Institute.
