Abstract
In this paper, the principle for calculating six stress components of structure is proposed when symmetric structure bears symmetric loads, through observation of orthogonal slices twice by normal incidences and obique incidence once. Three dimensional photoelastic experimental methods imitating of the Wan — An Lock, which bears gravity, earthfill pressure and water pressure, the separation and superposition of stresses, the main results of stress analysis on the structure are introduced. In this paper the method and the results of experimental stress analysis for Wan — An Lock structure by the three dimensional photoelasticity are described.
