Abstract
A fluorescence imaging system was designed to interface with a microCT device. We focus on refining the workflow for meshing and the coordinate registration of the two systems. The former is performed by projection imaging in the microCT, reconstructing a volume, segmenting using image processing software, and meshing using the NIRFAST software. The coordinate registration is performed by exploiting the geometry of the fluorescence system. We determine the location of the geometrical center of a subject, which can be used to derive a translation between instruments. The co-registration is validated by imaging optical phantoms.
