Profile Summary

Dr. Delwin L. Elder has over 20 years of experience in chemistry and materials science research and development, and he thrives on discovering novel and pragmatic solutions with partners and collaborators. He specializes in the design and synthesis of organic electro-optic molecules, characterization of optical, physical, and electrical properties, and thin-film device fabrication and evaluation. In addition to NLM, Delwin has been a Research Scientist at the University of Washington Department of Chemistry since 2010, also studying organic electro-optic materials. He has co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers. Previously, Delwin spent two years with a CoMotion startup and ten years at Air Products and Chemicals, focusing on conducting polymers, lithium battery materials, surfactants, and catalysis. He has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology.
