Currently I am the Lead Researcher at the Directed Energy Research Center at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), a UAE-based scientific research center. I am responsible for narrowing the gap between research and practical result – from building wide range of fiber optics skills with my team to developing and manufacturing advanced prototypes of fiber lasers. Specializing in fiber optics, fiber lasers and small-scale production management, I have over 12 years of experience in industry, including 5 years of experience in research. Starting my fiber optics career as PhD student at Fiber Optics Research Center, I worked on novel mid-infrared fiber optics materials. After receiving PhD degree, I started the position of Engineer at IPG Photonics Russia. Across my 7-year career as a Head of R&D Manufacturing I produced and shipped to the customers over 1000 various advanced, custom-designed fiber lasers from visible to 2 μm wavelengths.
