Elroy Pearson brings deep holographic experience as well as multi-disciplinary breadth to his role of Senior Optical Engineer at Wasatch Photonics. Elroy is a returning member of the early Wasatch Photonics gratings team, during which time he helped develop the world class gratings for which the company is known. For over 14 years, he collaborated on holographic technologies and tools ranging from large-aperture, multiplexed holographic optics for lidar to holographic data storage as well as holographic printers and holographic video displays. Elroy spent another 8 years creating automated and microfabricated tools for pharmaceutical research, optical zoom camera modules for consumer electronics, and even teaching high school physics.
In Elroy’s return to Wasatch Photonics, he provides customer-facing technical support, designs gratings and holographic optics, champions strategic R&D, engineers process improvements, and bridges the gap between grating and system development. He also works very closely with our customers in astronomy who are creating spectrographs for telescopes, supporting them with custom designs and support throughout the manufacture and test process.
