Filiberto Bilotti is Full Professor of EM field theory and the Director of the Antennas and Metamaterials Research Laboratory at the Department of Engineering, ROMA TRE University. His main research interests are in artificial EM materials, metamaterials/metasurfaces and their applications at microwave/optical frequencies. He published 500+ papers in international journals, conference proceedings, book chapters, and 3 patents. He was a founding member of the Virtual Institute for Artificial Electromagnetic Materials and Metamaterials – METAMORPHOSE VI in 2007. He was elected for two terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the same society (2007-2013) and as the President (2013-2019). Currently, he serves the METAMORPHOSE VI as the Vice President and the Executive Director. Filiberto Bilotti served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation (2013-2017) and the journal Metamaterials (2007-2013) and as a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal on RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering (2009-2015), Nature Scientific Reports (2013-2016), and EPJ Applied Metamaterials (2013-now). He was also the Guest Editor of 5 special issues in international journals. He hosted the inaugural edition of the Metamaterials Congress (2007) and served as the Chair of the Steering Committee (2008-2014, 2019) and the elected General Chair (2015-2018) of the same conference. He has been also serving as the chair or a member of the technical program, steering, and organizing committee of the main national/international conferences in the field of applied EM. Prof. Bilotti is an IEEE Fellow and was the recipient of the outstanding Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, NATO SET Panel Excellence Award, Finmeccanica Group Innovation Prize, IET Best Poster Paper Award (Metamaterials 2011 and 2013), Raj Mittra Travel Grant Senior Researcher Award.
