Profile Summary

Khashayar Khoshmanesh was born in 1975. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 1997, a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2000, and a PhD degree in Biomechanical Engineering from Deakin University, Geelong, Australia in 2010.
He was awarded the 2010 Australian Endeavour Fellowship to conduct a 6-month research at the BioMEMS Research Group, Department of Chemistry, University of Auckland, New Zealand. He is currently a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Intelligent Systems Research, Deakin University, Australia. His research interests include microfluidics, nanotechnology, and lab-on-a-chip systems, and particularly the dielectrophoretic-based microfluidic systems for a range of biomedical applications including manipulation, separation, immobilisation, and characterisation of cells and bacteria. He is the author or co-author of 23 journal papers and 14 conference proceedings in the field of microfluidics. As the recipient of 2011 American Australian Association’s Sir Keith Murdoch Fellowship, Khashayar will conduct a research at the Stanford Microfluidics Laboratory, Mechanical Engineering Department, Stanford University, USA in 2012.
