Nada O'Brien is a manager at Oculus Research of Facebook working on advanced and next generation head-mounted displays. Prior to that, she was a director in product management at Viavi Solutions. She has 20 years of experience in product and business development in the field of optics. Over those years, she has held engineering and management roles in the market areas of Telecommunications, Display, Defense, and other newly created product lines based on disruptive technologies like the MicroNIR™ spectrometer and form birefringent optical components. Nada earned her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She is an inventor on 10 patents in the topics of electrochromic materials, nanofabrication of inorganic materials, and spectroscopy.
