Profile Summary

Zixian Wei now is a Ph.D candidate of McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He obtained Master degree with high honor from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China in 2020, and Bachelor degree with honor from Jinan University in Guangzhou, China in 2017. He spent a year as a visiting student in Fudan University in Shanghai from 2016 to 2017. He has obtained National Scholarship (Top Award) in Tsinghua University and Jinan Star (Undergraduate Highest Honor) in Jinan University. He has served as a student member of Optica, IEEE and SPIE, and he established Optica-TBSI Student Chapter as a Secretary-General in 2017. His current research focuses on the area of semiconductor devices, silicon photonics (SiP), digital signal processing (DSP), free-space optical communication and VCSEL-based 3D-sensing. He has published 58 papers in peer-refereed international journals and conferences and has obtained 9 Chinese invention patents. He has received 2022 Editor-in-Chief Choice Award of Photonics Research,Best Student Award of OECC2021 and ACP2020. He gave oral, post-deadline oral or poster presentations in many international conferences, including OFC, CLEO, ACP, CLEO-PR, OECC and ICOCN. He also serves as a Reviewer for multiple OSA/IEEE journals, including Optics Express (OE), Optics Letters (OL), Photonics Journal (PJ), Photonics Technology Letter (PTL) and Journal of Lightwave Technology (JLT).
